Review – Peachy Keen by Kate Roth

4PK

We met Georgia in Last Resort.  Dani’s roommate and best friend has a very laissez-faire attitude when it comes to sex and relationships.  But seeing Dani and Evan heading toward their happily ever after has Georgia suddenly longing for things she never thought she wanted.  On an impulse, she decides to take off for Desire Resort, to have the kind of vacation she wished for Dani….one full of sex without strings.

There was so much to love about Georgia and her story.  I loved that we learned what led to her stance on love and sex and keeping the two separate.  I LOVED who Georgia found at the resort!!  You find out early in the book who he is, but I still think it is a nice little surprise that I don’t want to spoil.  I loved that he could read her so well, that he recognized and understood when she would get lost in her own thoughts and self-perceptions.  I loved that he fought for her, whether it was standing up to a jerk at the resort or standing up to his own judgy family members.  And I loved that he taught her that she was more than her own worst perception of herself.  The fact that he was a bearded, muscled hottie was just gravy!

Kate Roth has quickly become a new favorite author for me with the Desire Resort series.  She writes characters that are likeable and relatable without being cliché or stereotypes of other book heroes and heroines out there.  This book can be read as a standalone, but you would be depriving yourself of more great storytelling by skipping right to Georgia.
